For a while ive liked the idea of a single object containing multiple images of itself, and especially holding within its present its history (process of development).
Usually i make a 'prop' and then photo it, and from that reproduction i print its image and work into it using coloured pencil to produce an artwork, or rather a more enduring representation of the initial prop.
So that i did with this piece initially. But given i wanted it all the be present together at once, i took another step, this one right here, and i took the drawing and original prop and held them together in a resin base. A transparent base which reminds me of water, and i feel the prop is looking at its reflection below.
As above, so below.
